JÑĀNAPRAVĀHA – Vedanta Retreat

Vedanta study is prescribed in four parts to help a student in understanding life

This part presumes that the person has discovered the student in him and has shraddha in the teaching and the teacher has acknowledged the student’s pre-requisites to pursue the study. For such a student of Vedanta, Jnanapravaha offers a plethora of books, audio & video detailing Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s teachings.

The teachings are unique in that Pujya Swamiji wholly validates the student with his background. This the student can at once connect to when he/she goes through the books, audios, etc. All apprehensions are left behind and one is able to study and dwell on the teaching to make it his/her own learning. The student’s mind is not dissipated in thinking whether he can make the study useful for him/her. It is given, that is the authenticity of Pujya Swamiji’s teachings. This is the experience shared by many readers of his small books called ‘Moments with oneself’ series. That is where one starts the study. Then the Study Centre opens many avenues in the journey of learning. Needless to say that the student  and the teacher with whose guidance the student has come to Jnanapravaha together have a sense of surrender to the teacher in Pujya Swamiji.

The study can lead from small books to bigger books, public talks, Bhagavad Gita, Upanishad texts, Brahmasutra and a few other prakarana texts. The student is then led to audios/videos of Pujya Swamiji’s public talks which can be an eye-opener to how Vedanta study can help retain his/her poise in public life during early years , middle years and continue the study leading a dharmic life, this can be a period of karmayoga, one can call it. Then the Gurukulam course talks (six of them) help the student graduate to reality understanding in every aspect of life, earnestness in pursuit of truth of life without dependencies. With the blessing of his own teacher and the sampradaya of Arshavidya painstakingly put together by Pujya Swamiji the student is bound to get emancipated, gain fulfillment in this life.

This is the promise Jnanapravaha offers to an earnest student of Vedanta.
Jnanapravaha facilitates retreats by Vedanta acaryas and students as a group comprising not more than 40 of them. The facilities provide all the ambience – good stay, food, laundry, study help (as enumerated above) to have undistracted attentive learning during the retreat. The acarya is provided a free hand to have his own schedule depending on the subject matter of discussion accompanied by prayer sessions, meditation sessions, yoga and whatever that needs to be done by the group to take home useful learning in Vedanta. The facility provides ample scope for building comraderie among participants where meaningful peer-level interactions and immersion in the natural surroundings in the village are made possible. This is unique to Jnanapravaha.
All the teachings of Pujya Swamiji and exclusive to Pujya Swamiji are available at the click of a button in an extremely well-maintained Archive room where the self-learning experience is rewarding. Once one has gone through the other two steps enumerated above for a length of time in one’s life, one would definitely look forward to spending quality time in self-study at the archives in short spurts of time often in one’s life as we grow into old age. We can age gracefully by staying with teachings. Pujya Swamiji opens our heart for us to be greater contributors in life and we become less and less complaining about our life. We have less dependencies. Life can be a pleasant journey. Jnanapravaha can guide one in that journey.

Welcome to the students of Vedanta.
The fourth step in the jouney is not mentioned here. That is time. One has to allow and be patient and prayerful in this journey for time and Ishvara’s grace to play its part.

Om tat sat.
