Watch:   AHAM BRAHMASMI   (Mahavakya Vicara, Rishikesh 2012)

About this series

About this series
Mahavakyas, literally ‘great sayings’, are cryptic equations found in the Upanisads of the four Vedas, revealing the truth of the individual (atma) and the total (Ishvara) as essentially one and the same reality.
Being a self-conscious entity, a human being experiences self doubt, a sense of inadequacy and insecurity. In the absence of self-approval, human beings constantly seek approval from others. The Mahavakyas address the human problem fundamentally, revealing that you are the most significant being. The experiencer/knower (atma) is shown essentially to be identical with Jagatkaranam Brahman, the cause of the world, self-revealing, self-existent consciousness.
In this series of talks Pujya Swamiji teaches the meaning of the Mahavakya ‘Aham Brahma Asmi’ which is found in the Brhadaranyaka Upanisad of Shukla Yajurveda.
